Five years ago a group of women* began meeting on a monthly basis to spend some quality time away from all the challenges of our everyday lives. We wanted a space where we could just ‘be’, free from the pressure put on us by society to be in some way different from people we naturally are.
* Gentlemen, there is no reason this (or some version of it) could not work for you, too.
We had a couple of rules for our meetings:
(1) That we would not discuss men (no offence, guys, but we do enough of that already); and
(2) That we would focus on a theme to help us reconnect with our deepest selves.
The result was the Wise Women Network’s Full Moon Club. Some of us continue to meet in a local coffee shop and to share our unique experiences as women. Our lives have changed beyond recognition during that time. We are friends, mentors, advisors and coaches to each other. We are each other’s greatest champions; our lives flourishing in this atmosphere of love, mutual respect and support.
Added to our two rules, we have three guiding principles for our meetings: (1) kindness; (2) compassion; and (3) generosity of spirit.
